Bio
Maria McEneany has been an advocate for special needs youth and adults for 35 years. Maria served on several Boards at local, state and national levels including: The March of Dimes, the New York State PTA, the Children’s Tumor Foundation and Casa De Amparo, a shelter for abused children. Currently, Maria is a Commissioner on the Commission on the Status of Women for the County of San Diego, a Stewardship Commissioner for the Catholic Diocese of San Diego and Stewardship Coordinator at St. James ~ St. Leo Catholic Community. Maria serves on the Boards of Jubilee USA, San Diego, an organization building an economy that serves, protects, and promotes participation of the most vulnerable; Live Well San Diego Lions Club; and the Rancho Santa Fe Democratic Club. Among many initiatives, Maria is focused on eradicating global poverty and human trafficking.
Maria and her husband Paul have two grown children, a son (Bruce) and daughter (Sara). Maria believes each of us can make a difference, particularly in the lives of those less fortunate and that it is our obligation to do so.
