Bio

Deborah Barbano recently retired from an intense high-tech career in Silicon Valley after 32 years in various roles including manager, architect, consultant, researcher and software developer.  During her career, she continuously worked to find ways to improve the large inequity between the genders.  Deborah helped organize multiple women’s leadership conferences and mentoring programs. She was the recipient of the Hewlett-Packard Technical Women’s Leadership award and published multiple research papers in the areas of security and distributed operating systems.  Deborah received her Bachelor and Master of Science from the University of Delaware in Computer Science.

Deborah works on the San Diego County Commission on the Status of Women & Girls and the California 2020 Women’s Suffrage Project.  She is an avid artist and jogger and loves living in San Diego.
